Happy 2013!!!!
Well, my blogging fingers were itchy when I woke up this morning so, here I am. It feels strange to be staring at a semi-blank screen and thinking about all the ways I can express myself. It really has been too long.
Lately things are in a place of "waiting". Waiting for a new semester of college to begin, waiting for the paychecks to roll in, waiting to pay off bills, waiting to find out when the next chapter in our lives will start, waiting waiting waiting.....
The Lord tells us to wait doesn't he? Yes he does. He tells us to wait FREQUENTLY. Biblegateway.Org pulls up 129 results for the word "wait" within the text of the good book. Of course not all of those results were spoken by the Lord, but the fact that waiting is so prevalent in the bible should tell me something. Clearly waiting is an important thing to learn how to do, and even though the Lord was not quoted directly in most of the scriptures containing "wait", a lot of the scriptures were surrounded by unhappiness. I'm pretty sure even the Bible had intentions of letting me know that waiting is important even though I may not be happy about it. Well...I have never been a very good waiter. Sometimes patience is NOT my virtue, and as much as I know it should be, I struggle with it -and sometimes resent it.
I should work on that in 2013.
I should work on that today.
Dear Lord,
I love you as often as I can. I pray that I will love you more and more, because I know that what I can do is not enough. I pray your blessings over my home and my family, and I ask that your will be done in our lives. Thank you for your forgiveness and mercy, your blessings and grace, and for your never ending guidance. Thank you for the words of encouragement within the Bible. Thank you for placing your hand over my heart and never letting me go. I love you and I will try harder to honor you.
-Amen
